
We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Prof. Dr. Herbert (Bert) Biggs as a Member of the International Research Advisory Council (IRAC). Bert took up the position of Chief Academic Officer for Pacific Coast University for Workplace Health Sciences from May 2025. Prior to that he was the University’s PLAR Coordinator – a responsibility he still holds. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Governors and Academic Council for PCU-WHS.
Bert is currently an Adjunct Professor and former Full Professor in the School of Psychology and Counselling at the Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia. He has been an educator and researcher at Massey University, New Zealand (where he took his PhD); Southern Cross University, NSW; Curtin University of Technology, Perth, WA; and Griffith University, Qld.
Bert has produced 270 publications since his initial academic appointment in 1990. His research interests are across workplace health promotion, occupational and mental health concerns in industrial environments, development of adult resilience in the workplace and competencies and skills in human service and disability management professionals.
